Research Interests

I have undertaken research in the following areas through writing, teaching, and action research projects.

Sculptural education with a particular focus on material literacy. I have written reflections on this work for In Your Hands and Teaching Sculpture in Schools. I have presented papers at conferences on this theme including Making Sculpture with People, organised by Ellie Barrett.

Feminist practice, particularly grassroots, artist-led movements in 1970-90s in Britain.

I have a BA and MA in History of Art from The Courtauld Institute of Art. I won the 2011 Henry Moore Foundation’s Student Prize for MA dissertation ‘In some ways mother, in some ways Communist’: Maternity in the Sculpture of Betty Rea
